Hate to break it, but this is more done by other women than men.
Guys are mostly differently awful.
- there are mountains of research backing up the fact that advertisers and media prey on women’s insecurities
- like the rest of media ]and the world, basically], the ad industry is run by men. so is the beauty industry [the ceo’s of elizabeth arden, l’oreal, ulta, revlon, paul mitchell, nars, the miss universe pageant and several others are men].
men are the driving force behind media that is toxic to women and they are the ones who profit off of it.
on the ground, it may appear that women are the ones doing this to each other. that is a result of internalized misogyny, which women at times perpetuate due to the pressure to perform in a patriarchal society.
but do not think for a moment that women are behind this entire industry. do not think that women are the reason for this, do not think that women profit off of this, and do not think that mothers want this for their daughters.
What the fuck?! Hold the fuck up. Are you claiming that MENare making your daughters having a eating disorder? Why blame the whole male race? It wasn’t my fault I was born a male and that men are running beauty companies. If you want to blame someone, point fingers at the real culprits instead of blaming a general area. It’s like saying every single Jewish person killed Jesus. We all know that’s wrong. If you want to talk eating disorder, look at the beauty companies and yourself. Teach your kids that no one is perfect and everyone is beautiful instead of making “beauty” their center. You blame the wrong media and the group gets the worse out of people. What give you the right to blame us MEN? I’m a hard core feminist and I believe in equal rights. You blaming men is that same thing as us blaming women. It’s a hate game and no one wins in the end. Don’t start posting slander post until you know who exactly is wrong. In my opinion, if parents literally took the time to teach their kids the value of health, no one would have and eating disorder because we live in a generation where everything is handed to you. Motivate them to exercise and if they don’t want to, bust in a Disney movie and have a snack feast on the table. Don’t blame men for eating disorders. Blame yourself for not showing you care when it’s too late.
